Plastic Community Project – implemented by Lagos Business School (LBS) with support from Ford Foundation The Plastic Community Project is a Beat Plastic Pollution (BPP) initiative implemented in collaboration with eTrash2Cash with the aim of addressing the plastic waste challenge by engaging school children in collected plastic bottles. The project facilitated a community-led approach by using sport as an advocacy tool to achieve social and behavioural change toward mitigating the adverse effects of climate change for Plastic Free Communities in Benue State The project achieved significant results as 16 Eco-Clubs were established, 120 Environment Champions were trained and 200 tree seedlings were distributed to community members during Clean-Up campaigns.
Project Overview
Our Environment Champions collected over 30,000 plastic bottles to play the Eco-Tournament in Yagba community.
