It is an ongoing advocacy project targeted at stakeholders with high power and influence in their communities. These stakeholders shall pledge to increase awareness about climate change using their platforms. They will encourage those over whom they have influence to pledge and undertake simple and doable actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change. The project participants are delineated along three (3) tiers.
These participants at all tiers of the program will sign pledges to solidify their commitments. They will also receive support from DevTrain’s Project Management Team (Monitoring and Evaluation Officers) in form of guidance notes, talking points, climate smart advisory, interviews, engagement, trainings and other project activities as deemed necessary.
The aim of the Climate Change Pledge Project is in line with the SDG 13, which seeks to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, by advocating to influential individuals and institutions with established platforms and members across different sectors, creating awareness about climate change and organically incorporating climate smart strategies and policies into their organization’s activities/projects.
